Ensuring the social and environmental sustainability of the bioeconomy remains a pivotal element in its advancement. Successfully transitioning to a bio-based economy necessitates robust governmental regulations and transparent governance frameworks to avert unintended harm to the environment. In Argentina, the sustainability of the agricultural sector has faced significant scrutiny from various stakeholders, particularly concerning socio-environmental repercussions. These concerns encompass health issues linked to the improper usage of agrochemicals, displacement of rural communities, deforestation, land degradation, and the concentration of land ownership, among other factors. To gauge stakeholders’ perceptions regarding the sustainability of the bioeconomy in Argentina, our focus was to ascertain if the nation possesses the requisites for a sustainable shift toward a bio-based economy.
