3.4 Vision and Development Objectives of Brazil’s Bioeconomy
The bioeconomy stands as a transformative force for developing nations, offering a unique avenue for fostering economic growth and societal advancement. Its essence lies in harnessing, converting, and utilizing natural resources sustainably, paving the way for a greener and more economically vibrant future. Countries worldwide have increasingly embraced the bioeconomy within their policy frameworks, drawn by the promise of advancements in bioscience and biotechnology that hold immense potential for bolstering economic prosperity. Maximizing the potential of the bioeconomy necessitates innovative approaches across science, technology development, business strategies, and global policy frameworks. The focus must revolve around social development and the conscientious preservation of environmental resources to truly reap the benefits it offers.
In a concerted effort to delve into this evolving landscape, an extensive technological roadmap was undertaken between June 2015 and June 2018, engaging over 1500 experts. This collaborative endeavor encompassed researchers, technical specialists from the private sector, policymakers, and stakeholders.
