China’s bioeconomy is defined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs as a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy that uses biological resources to promote the development of bio-based goods, services, and technologies. China’s bioeconomy has been growing steadily over the years due to its large agricultural sector, growing emphasis on biotechnology, and increasing demand for bio-based products.
