6.1 Definition of Bioeconomy by Haiti

The Ministries of Trade and Agriculture, in partnership with Health, organized the Assizes to explore Haiti’s bioeconomy. Seven workshops tackled biotech in agriculture, medicine, cosmetics, and more. Discussions aimed to learn from Cuba’s plant industry, boost biodiversity ties, and set initial policies for Haiti’s bioeconomy. Ministers emphasized job creation, Haiti’s natural potential, and the role of bioeconomy in global trade. They highlighted the need for regulatory support and reliable, safe bio-based products.
