19.1 Definition of Bioeconomy by Sri Lanka

There is no specific definition of bioeconomy by Sri Lanka however in general the term “biobased economy,” “bioeconomy,” or “biotechonomy” refers to any economic activity in which biomass and biotechnology are used to produce goods, services, or energy. Regional development organizations, national and international organizations, and biotechnology companies frequently use these terms.
